We've all heard the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover." But really, how many times have you been drawn to a book because of it's cover. As an elementary librarian the cover is one of the things we take into account when selecting books. Many times I think, "Great story, not so hot cover, will I be able to get the kids to read it?". Besides, we all initially judge a book by it's cover art and tagline, and now it's time to celebrate the it! Feel free to link your own cover posts (wether you love 'em, hate 'em, or debut 'em) here every Monday.
My Cover Love feature was inspired by 21 Pages and Book Chick City and I encourage you to take a look at their cover art features.

There are some absolutely fabulous children's books out there, the YA market has given us some beautiful stories, and the juvenile fiction section is exploding with fantastic and wonderful books. I hope this feature not only enriches your reading, but also helps you choose books for your children. Tots to Teens and in beTween will be popping up every Tuesday.
Comic books, graphic novels, call them what you will, as long as you give them a fair shake. For years people didn't understand how and English Major could love comic books so much. I think I'm the only person from my high school who listed working for a comic book company as a dream job in their senior yearbook profile. There are some fantastic stories, characters, and amazing art out there. Check it out every third Thursday of the month.

In My Mailbox (IMM) is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. The post will feature what I've received (purchased, borrowed, or library loan) during the week. The idea of IMM is "to bring books to the attention of our blog readers and to encourage interaction with other blogs." The Story Siren hosts IMM every Sunday.
