------------------------------ NOTE--------------------------
This IMM post was supposed to publish last week but I forgot to schedule it.
IMM is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. The goal of IMM is to bring new books to bloggers' attention and to encourage interaction between blogs.
Since I live in Dubai we end up traveling a lot. I have this horrible inability to sleep on airplanes. It's terrible, I'm exhausted and miserable until I finally pass out the last one or two hours before the final destination. So I take a lot of books to read. Thank GOD for the Kindle, books are really heavy to carry around (I average six books in a flight). I've noticed that my reading has sharply declined since I had The Kid, but I'm still hoping to get some of reading done during my spring break.
So these are some of the new reads I'm taking with me:
Purchased
Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood #9) by J.R. Ward
Falling Awake by Jayne Ann Krentz
Blackout (Cal Leandros #6 ) by Rob Thurman
Faking It by Jennifer Crusie (LOVE this book and my original copy is in the states)
How To Flirt With A Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf #1) by Molly Harper
Free on Kindle
Turned At Dark: A Bonus Shadow Falls short story (Shadow Falls #0.5) by C.C. Hunter
For Review
Fatal Embrace by Aris Whittier
Harm None: A Rowan Gant Investigation (A Rowan Gant Mystery #1) by M.R. Sellars
Thank you to Aris Whittier and Willowtree Press for providing me with review copies of their books.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I picked up Blackout because Dangerous Romance reminded me that I enjoyed this series for a long time and should give it another shot; How To Flirt With a Naked Werewolf because of Lurv a la Mode's honest review and my love of the Jane Jameson series; and Aurian's review made me give the odd Falling Awake a try.

I hate flying so I brought my Kindle the last time thinking it would help pass time but I couldn't read for some reason :-( I ended up playing Plants VS Zombies instead...lol How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf was cute.
April 10, 2011 at 11:27 AMI love anything by Jayne Ann Krentz under any of her three names. Also anything by Jennifer Crusie, and Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
April 10, 2011 at 11:29 AMYou might also like Sarah Addison Allen. Her first book was Garden Spells
@ Karen - Well, you had Plants Vs. Zombies, it's highly addictive. No wonder you couldn't read! :)
April 10, 2011 at 11:45 AM@ The Pen and Ink blog - I picked up Garden Spells in the airport in 2008, I really enjoyed it but haven't read anything else by her.
I absolutely cannot sleep on planes either, I try and try and it just doesn't work for me! You have some fabulous books to take with you, I loved Lover Unleashed even though Manny and Payne weren't the strongest couple. I'm such a fan of V though, so I was fine with him overshadowing them:)
April 10, 2011 at 12:07 PMTo answer your question about the Cassandra Clare series - yes, I've read them all and I highly recommend them. She's definitely one of those authors that doesn't assure us of a happy ever after, but The Mortal Instruments are a favorite of mine anyway:)
Wow lots of great books!!
April 10, 2011 at 12:08 PMAwesome books :D Have fun reaidng those on your trip
April 10, 2011 at 12:48 PMO dear, will you blame me when you don't like the JAK? I do hope you enjoy it, and of course the other books and your trip.
April 10, 2011 at 2:31 PM@ Jenny - OK, I'll man up and try the MI series.
April 10, 2011 at 10:25 PM@ Fiction Vixen & Blodeuedd - I've enjoyed them so far but was actually only able to read 2 books during the trip.
@ Aurian - I'm totally hunting you down. ;) Your review intrigued me and I knew I was trying something new for me. So far it's been interesting.
Hey Jennifer,
April 13, 2011 at 12:55 PMThanks for the shoutout. I'm so glad you're going to read blackout. I liked it alot, one of my favorites of the series. I feel like it took Cal losing his memory in a way, to make him grow up.I have to write my review, I'm so behind.
I know exactly what you mean. I traveled to Nepal and it took 32 hours with layovers and I never slept a wink. Back then there WAS no kindle. I bought this amazing book called Shantaram that was like 1200 pages and for once savored a book and it lasted me a couple weeks. My friend read it when I wasn't so that helped we had to fight over it.
Where are you traveling? Are you going home for a visit?
I haven't had a chance to start BLACKOUT yet, but I'm really looking forward to it.
April 13, 2011 at 1:11 PMWe didn't go back to the States, we actually met up with 2 other families in Bali and pretty much hung out with the kids (four of them under the age of 4). My best friend flew in from Atlanta so there wasn't a lot of reading going on. :)
