We've all heard the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover." But really, how many times have you been drawn to a book because of it's cover. Besides, we all initially judge a book by it's cover art and tagline, and now it's time to celebrate the it! Cover Love is hosted every Monday, feel free to add a link to your cover reviews (love 'em, hate 'em, or debut 'em) to Mr. Linky below.
An Abundance of Books' Cover Love feature was inspired by 21 Pages' "Cover Love" and Book Chick City's "Cover Crush" features and I encourage you to check them out.

I love how different this cover is!
While all of the elements are still centered, the image and the title weigh down one side of the cover. It doesn't feel off balance, it's just not what I normally see and I really like it. The cover model's face is mostly obscured by the camera and the flash, a change from the face oriented covers that have become popular. And that red, even if only the spine was showing, I'd probably pick this up because it's so bright. Overall, it makes me think of the price of fame - being stalked by the paparazzi.
Goodreads Summary:
All Jamie Gordon wants to do is to take pictures of celebrities...and maybe to become famous herself. She's only fourteen, but already her pictures are sought after by fanzines and websites, and she's invited to all the best parties. And now she has the chance of a lifetime. She has been invited to spend a week with Willow Twine, taking pictures of the teen superstar's new chaste life. But when Jamie gets her hands on some sensational shots of Willow, she's suddenly in over her head. The pictures could make her career...and destroy Willow's. Everybody seems to want to get their hands on the photos, and Jamie has to decide what she really wants...and what she's willing to pay to get it.

April 4, 2011 at 12:37 AMOh I love it! I love how simple it is and the bright red really makes it pop. And I definitely like that it's off center, you're right that it doesn't feel off balance but it definitely make things more interesting:)
