We've all heard the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover." But really, how many times have you been drawn to a book because of it's cover. Besides, we all initially judge a book by it's cover art and tagline, and now it's time to celebrate the it! Cover Love is hosted every Monday, feel free to add a link to your cover reviews (love 'em, hate 'em, or debut 'em) to Mr. Linky below.
An Abundance of Books' Cover Love feature was inspired by 21 Pages' "Cover Love" and Book Chick City's "Cover Crush" features and I encourage you to check them out.

I am in book lust. Penguin has published 20 classics with linen covers, colored end papers, and ribbon markers. Eeee! I absolutely LOVE these covers, some are a bit quirky, but I want them! I need them! I think these are my favorite, but I must have them all.
Isn't Jane Eyre gorgeous? And I love the flamingoes on Alice In Wonderland. Seriously, I'm about to swoon with delight. I love fabric covered books, it adds more to the reading experience. My students love Michael Buckley's Sisters Grimm series because all of the books are bound in fabric with art nouveau designs and the title all stamped in faux gold. It makes the book feel extra special.
When we originally moved to Kuwait, my husband of three weeks kindly (but firmly) pointed out that I was going to have to get rid of a lot of books. Realistically there was no way we could have taken them all with us, and the garage sale money was nice. (We had also filled up both his mom's and his dad's basement storage areas with stuff and only so much could fit into the Honda Civic to take down to Little Rock to store with my parents.) I ended up selling most of my classics because they were banged up paperbacks from university. But now he's been wanting to read more classics, and I need to replace mine, and viola! Pretty books from Penguin. :)
Luckily Book Depository sells a lot of these, but be careful because some are the paperback version of these editions. And we don't want to cheat ourselves out of the lovely linen binding.
What covers caught your attention this week?

GORGEOUS! I love that Penguin did this, I would love to have these all lined up on a shelf next to one another! I love Jane Eyre and The Picture of Dorian Gray, I could stare at those all day!
January 24, 2011 at 11:42 AMWow! Those covers certainly are swoonworthy. The Alice one, in particular, I love. It seems like the kind of thing you'd see a design student put up on the internet - hard to believe it's real.
January 25, 2011 at 7:01 AMI just noticed some covers using the same face. Check it out.
