Cover Love - Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

Release date: August 31, 2010
Hardback and Kindle versions available

Goodreads Summary:
Nothing much happens in the sleepy town of Venus Cove. But everything changes when three angels are sent from heaven to protect the town against the gathering forces of darkness: Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, a teenage girl who is the least experienced of the trio. They work hard to conceal their true identity and, most of all, their wings. But the mission is threatened when the youngest angel, Bethany, is sent to high school and falls in love with the handsome school captain, Xavier Woods. Will she defy the laws of Heaven by loving him? Things come to a head when the angels realize they are not the only supernatural power in Venus Cove. There′s a new kid in town and he′s charming, seductive and deadly. Worst of all, he′s after Beth.
I think the cover of this book is just lovely and I would definitely take it off the shelf. The nice warm colors, love the silhouette, the romantic image, and the anime feel (it reminds me of a cut scene from a Final Fantasy game), I even like the style of the title - this cover rocks.

Heck, I don't even like book trailers, but the Halo one is cool.

Unfortunately the description seems a bit...cheesy. While I would definitely pick the book up, teenage angels falling in love would probably make me put it back. Which I recognize is unfair since I loved Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush, Hush and can't wait for the sequel, Crescendo, to be released. I also think romance novels are pretty cheesy, but I like to read those too.

I think I should give Halo a try, as has been the case lately, it will probably exceed my expectations.

I should also add that Alexandra Adornetto is 17 years old, and this is not her first published book. It's actually the Australian teen's third book and she's working on her 4th - that in itself is impressive.

This is a book you could buy just for the sheer pleasure of looking at the cover! It's on my to-read list.

I completely agree. If I do get this, it won't be my typical Kindle purchase. Nope, I'd get the physical book and ship it to Dubai. Of course, to make the shipping cost worth while, I'd have to add other books... :)
